#0018# .Diagnostic Critique.

The guy across the street was intensely gesturing me something. I could not grasp the message but assumed it to be a request to press the beg button - maybe the one on his side was broken. What else could he want?!? But then he burst out into a vigorous and mesmerising dance. His all body was dancing, each body part shifting between a solo sequence of its own and a well-coordinated choreography for the whole figure. I found it more captivating than a recent dance performance commissioned to activate the area outside the metro station. His presence was intense. Barefoot on a street corner on a rainy day. Entirely consumed by the movements and still appearing as if reaching out to the people and surrounding environment. Halfway crossing the busy street, I could finally discern his face more clearly. The amazing artist suddenly turned into a madman…

‘I’m curious to know what lesson you took from this?’

‘Maybe MFA should be issued as a diagnosis rather than a degree?’

‘Not quite sure what to make of that comment.’

‘Me neither.’

Somehow, I was pleased that my covert attempt to take a picture of the dancer failed. Or did it? I can see the street dancing now.
